PROJECT PURPOSE
Coffee knowledge is often fragmented across recipes, terminology and specialist sources. This system explores how one coherent structure could help different audiences understand the subject at the level they need.
The aim is not to create one exhaustive encyclopaedia. It is to build a family of useful entry points that remain connected as the reader moves deeper.
THE WORKING THESIS
People learn coffee more confidently when they can see how each decision connects to the next.
Every edition will begin from the same verified source structure, then choose a depth and format suited to a particular moment: learning, brewing, teaching, serving or making a business decision.
Current text and diagrams describe the design direction. Subject matter will be reviewed with appropriate coffee specialists before publication.
KNOWLEDGE ARCHITECTURE / WORKING MODEL
A provisional content structure for the family. The final architecture will be refined through research and expert review.
Where coffee begins, and why place and plant matter.
How choices after harvest shape the material that reaches the roaster.
The transformation from green coffee to an expressive ingredient.
Variables, relationships and repeatable ways to make adjustments.
A shared vocabulary for noticing, describing and comparing.
Tools that connect product knowledge with teams and customers.
SYSTEM MAP / 01—06
The outputs share a visual language and knowledge structure, but each is designed for a different kind of use.
AUDIENCES
Clear foundations, reference tools and visual explanations without specialist gatekeeping.
Fast references, deeper frameworks and tools that support practice and communication.
Consistent educational materials for teams, customers and structured learning.
SAMPLE LOGIC / PLACEHOLDER DATA
These diagrams demonstrate the planned information-design grammar only. They do not present verified coffee data yet.
DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP
A deliberately staged process keeps the first edition useful and the wider family coherent.
Define the questions, sources and boundaries of the system.
Build the shared structure that every format will use.
Test posters, field guides and digital reference tools.
Publish one focused, useful object before expanding the family.
FIRST EDITION / CONCEPT
An educational poster and compact reference note designed to show related brewing variables together.
PROJECT NOTES / WAITLIST
Receive occasional development notes and an announcement when the first edition is ready.
